On a gym break, she shared her favorite fitness footnotes to evening looks with Footwear News. According to Marti, Nike, Adidas and Supra are among her workout footwear. “I wear them for running and cross-training,” she said, adding she often steps into her Supra high-tops as a casual look around the city.

For life outside the gym, Marti opts for everyday looks that include comfort-driven loafers and flats by Vince. But the fitness maven has not ruled out heels altogether. “I have Christian Louboutin 7-inch platform heels,” said Marti. “I’m 5-foot-2 and need big heels. When I go out, I like some height.”

Also included in her footwear wardrobe, which totals about three dozen pairs, are over-the-knee boots by Bebe and high heels by BCBG Max Azria. “Since I am in sneakers most of the time, I need variety,” she added.

Marti said when it comes to Hollywood A-listers, she admires the style of  Jennifer Lopez. “I’ve loved J. Lo since I was a kid,” she said. “I also like Gwen Stefani’s hairstyle and her hangout look in jeans.”

Gym Workouts Vs. Home Workouts. ( what you need to know)

The importance of regular exercise can’t be understated. The key to sticking with a fitness plan is finding one that fits into your lifestyle. For some guys, home workouts might be all they have time for. For others, nothing beats the gym environment. To help you decide on whether home workouts or gym workouts are for you, we’ve compiled this handy list. Use it to find the best workout plan for your schedule.

1- Advantages of Home Workouts:

•Greater Convenience: The chance to work out without the effort and bother of visiting a gym can make you more likely to stick to an exercise plan; if your gym or health club is too far to reach conveniently, you may soon find yourself skipping workouts. Having the means to enjoy a great workout – right in your own home –  makes you more likely to workout (and do it more often). Home workouts also allow you to take supplements at your leisure – no more rushing to mix your post-workout shake after a session at the gym.

•Less Cost and Expense: The high cost of membership fees associated with a gym can really put a strain on your budget. With the one-time-only investment in the equipment, materials and programs needed to enjoy a great home workout, you can get in some exercise without breaking the bank. For a frugal workout option, your home can’t be beat.

•Increased Comfort and Privacy: Having to perform your workout or exercise routine in a crowded public space can feel overwhelming, espcially for the novice or newcomer. Getting the same workout without prying eyes can give you a greater measure of comfort. If you have difficulty with the crowds you find in a gym, your home can offer an ideal solution.

2- Advantages of Gym Workouts:

•Access to a Larger Selection of Equipment and Fitness Options: A modern and well equipped gym can offer you the chance to make use of equipment that would never fit into your budget or home. For the chance to make use of a wider variety of work out options and equipment, a trip to the gym trumps even the most lavish home workout setups. Gyms make it a lot easier to change up your workouts every few weeks; this variety helps to challenge and strengthen your muscles.

•Classes, Formal Instruction and Personal Trainers: The social environment of a gym brings plenty of advantages. Enrolling in a class can give you the chance to work out with others, helping you to stay motivated. Formal instruction or one on one attention can ensure that your workout is well designed and able to fit give you the best results possible. Having someone to hold you accountable can keep you motivated and help you overcome plateaus.

•Enjoying a Culture of Fitness: Just being around other people can help you meet your goals. Networking, inspiration and new ideas are all more easily found in a gym then at home. Staying connected with those around you can give you a number of ways to help reach your fitness goals.

•Consider your goals and needs carefully to determine which approach has the most to offer you. For a lot of guys, a combination of the two workout types can help them reach their goals. Whatever route you decide to take, rest assured you’ll be well on your way to better health.

How to Slim Down in 3 Weeks And Look Better Than Ever.

Make it a daily habit to eat healthfully and exercise to slim down in three weeks. Changing how your body functions on the inside will make you look slimmer on the outside. Healthy foods supply the energy necessary to burn calories. As long as you burn more calories than you consume, the weight will start to fall off.

Step 1

Choose healthy foods instead of junk food, high-calorie, sugary, salty and fatty foods. Opt for choices such as whole grains, fruits, vegetables, low-fat dairy products and lean meats. Throw away any unhealthy foods and stop buying fast food. Many people overeat because unhealthy food is available and accessible, not because of hunger, according to Dr. Phil McGraw, author of "The Ultimate Weight Solution." Overeating any type of food can cause weight gain.

Step 2

Be physically active as much as possible throughout the day. The more active you are, the more calories you will burn. Choose activities you enjoy to make it easier to exercise. For example, full-court basketball or cross-country skiing can burn more than 800 calories per hour, depending on your body weight, according to Health Status Internet Assessments. Be active several times a day. Run in the morning, play a sport during the afternoon and go hiking before dinner. According to the American College of Sports Medicine, 20 to 90 minutes of activity on most days of the week is recommended for weight loss.

Step 3

Burn 3,500 calories more than you consume daily to lose 1 pound per week. For example, cut 200 calories per day and burn 300 calories with physical activity. A larger caloric deficit will cause more weight loss and quickly make you slim. However, losing weight too fast is difficult to maintain, and the weight is often regained just as quickly. Small deficits lead to long-term weight loss, according to the American College of Sports Medicine.

Step 4

Incorporate two to three days of resistance training into your weight-loss plan. People with muscles burn more calories per day, even at rest. Use weight training, calisthenics, resistance tubing or any type of activity that causes overload to your muscles, according to "Fitness: Theory and Practice."

Step 5

Find ways to add activity into your daily routine. For example, park your car farther from the mall to increase your walking distance. Hand-wash your car instead of going to the car wash. Take the stairs instead of the elevator and stand whenever possible instead of sitting. Every bit of activity will burn more calories throughout the day, causing more weight loss.

*Tips :

See your health care provider before starting a new weight loss plan.

Amazing Workouts to Help You Look Great in Your Clothing.

The clothes only make the man if his physique is up to par. Tricks like getting a great tailor and wearing vertical stripes to look lean only go so far. If you really want to look stylish, whipping yourself into shape is the best way to go. A decent program with cardio and strength training means you can forget about trying to cover up problem areas and highlight your best assets instead.

1- Medicine ball slams to look slick in a suit:

Decking yourself out in a suit can either make you look slick or sloppy. There’s not really any way to hide a round midsection, because anything that fits through the shoulders will be too snug around your stomach, while one that fits your waist will look sloppy and make your gut appear larger than it is. In order to pull off this classic look, try for a tighter midsection. Instead of the usual crunches or planks, take your core routine to the next level by incorporating some medicine ball slams. Men’s Fitness said this move is great for carving your stomach while elevating your heart rate. Since it incorporates both strength and cardio training, you’ll maximize your effort to get lean faster than you would with moves that only focus on strength. This move is a great shake-up for veterans but easy enough that beginners will have no trouble. Stand in an athletic stance with your feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent, and hold a medicine ball directly above you with both hands. Using as much force as possible, exhale and contract your abs as you throw the ball to the ground. If possible, catch the ball on the bounce and go right into the next repetition. Be sure you’re using a ball that’s designed to minimize bounce so you don’t risk hitting yourself in the face after it rebounds off the floor.

 2. Reverse plate curls for a button-down shirt with rolled sleeves :

All guys want great arms, especially biceps and triceps. Unless you’re spending a lot of time at the beach, though, those muscles don’t see the sun all that often. It’s a lot more likely you’ll be showing off your forearms once you roll up your sleeves after work. These muscles are often neglected, so you could notice a big difference pretty quickly. In addition to aesthetics, working the lower parts of your arms will also boost your grip strength, which can lead to a better golf game and a lot less trouble unscrewing stubborn jars. The great thing about plate curls is they allow you to keep working your biceps while simultaneously stressing your forearms. Replacing the standard dumbbells with a heavy plate forces you to pinch a lot harder in order to keep your grip on the weight. To perform this lift, stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. Grasp a heavy plate with both hands, letting your arms hang fully extended. Keeping your elbows and upper arms tight against your body, lift the plate as far as your arms will allow. Pause briefly, then lower the weight back to the starting position. Muscle & Fitness recommended five to six sets of four to eight repetitions. If you can do more, it’s time to grab a heavier plate. Also consider the art of the sleeve roll. While there’s not one right way to do it, there are a lot of wrong ways. Check out Esquire’s guide to look your sharpest.

3. Barbell hip thrusts for a lower half that looks great in jeans :

Tricks like getting a great tailor and wearing vertical stripes to look lean only go so far. If you really want to look stylish, whipping yourself into shape is the best way to go. A decent program with cardio and strength training means you can forget about trying to cover up problem areas and highlight your best assets instead. Since different clothes highlight different body parts, think about what types of garments you usually wear. A sleek jacket and tie calls for a killer core while jeans will have your butt on full display. We’ve highlighted five exercises to match some of the sleekest looks. Whether you tend to keep things casual or dress like it’s your last day on earth, these moves will help you look better than ever. 1. Medicine ball slams to look slick in a suit Decking yourself out in a suit can either make you look slick or sloppy. There’s not really any way to hide a round midsection, because anything that fits through the shoulders will be too snug around your stomach, while one that fits your waist will look sloppy and make your gut appear larger than it is. Also consider the art of the sleeve roll. While there’s not one right way to do it, there are a lot of wrong ways. Check out Esquire’s guide to look your sharpest. 3. Barbell hip thrusts for a lower half that looks great in jeans Plenty of women look to squats and lunges to get a backside that looks great in jeans. While men’s styles are a bit more forgiving than some of the skin-tight versions the ladies sport, the rule still holds true. Jeans always look better when they’re fitted to a great butt. Those classic gym moves can be problematic, though. Unless you want to perform hundreds of repetitions, heavy weight is the best way to sculpt your backside, yet trying to pile too much weight onto the barbell for squats can be seriously hard on your back, hips, and knees. There’s a safer way, and it’s just as effective. Bret Contreras, CSCS, told Men’s Health the barbell hip thrust “activates your glutes better than any other exercise.” Choose a heavy weight, but one that you’re able to lift for at least 10 repetitions. To get into position, set your barbell on the ground running parallel to the length of the bench. Sit on the ground and position the bar across your hips, keeping your knees bent and your upper back against the bench. Press your hips up until your torso and knees form a straight line. Squeeze your glutes, then slowly lower your hips until the plates touch the ground. The article recommended three sets of 10 repetitions.

4. Upright rows to rock a fitted shirt :

Whether you’re relaxing in a basic t-shirt or going for something a little more dressy for a night out, fitted shirts leave little to the imagination. These tops demand moves that strengthen your upper back, your shoulders, and your lats. Fortunately, Muscle & Fitness said the upright row is a compound move that can help you target all of these areas at the same time. To perform this move, grasp a weighted barbell with an overhand grip, your hands slightly less than shoulder-width apart, with your arms fully extended. Using your shoulders to lift, raise your elbows up and to the sideuntil the bar is just below your chin, keeping the bar close to your body the entire time. Then, carefully lower it back to the starting position.

Fitness : How To Improve Your Bench Press.

If there’s one exercise every man should perform, it’s the bench press. The bench press is one of the most effective moves to target your upper body muscles. To help you lift heavier weights and improve your bench press, we’ve put together this list of eight fitness tips for men:

1. Use visualization:

Visualization has been used successfully for everything from personal achievement to business success. Because the technique can be applied to virtually any activity, bench pressing is no different. Prior to performing a max attempt, picture yourself doing just that. Really see yourself benching the weight, such that you imagine how it feels, as well. Go through the motion in your head from every movement. Think of yourself in the gym and imagine what it feels like, from sounds to how others look.

2. Take a men’s tri-creatine supplement:

Research shows that creatine supplementation can help you significantly increase muscle size and strength. Taking creatine helps increase your muscle’s energy stores for longer, harder workouts, which in turn can help improve your bench press and speed up workout results. MenScience takes things a step further by using a proprietary tri-creatine matrix in our Creatine Workout Results Booster. This mix of three high-quality creatine maximizes muscle strength and size gains.

3. Take adequate breaks:

In between heavy sets, take breaks. Every successful power lifter knows how important this is. If you don’t give your muscles time to recover between sets, you’ll increase your risk of injury and fatigue a lot faster. Don’t finish one set and power into another one unless you want diminishing returns. Aim for 30-60 seconds of rest between sets for best results.

4. Make sure you’re hydrated:

You need to be hydrated if you want to perform at your best. Before lifting, consume a pre-workout supplement for men with nitric oxide activators. This type of men’s workout supplement will not only keep you hydrated, but also improve your energy, focus and alertness for an overall better workout.

5. Don’t neglect surrounding muscles:

The bench press is typically associated with chest and arm muscles, but other muscle groups play a big role in this exercise as well, especially your back (lats) muscles. Following a fitness program that includes regular back exercises and other upper body exercises will help you build strength and improve your bench press. For a structured fitness plan.

6.Vary your exercises and intensity:

You should target your chest muscles from all angles so experiment with different positions like incline and decline bench presses. This will help you develop a well-rounded chest and prevent any muscle imbalances. You should also experiment with reps and weight; for one set, you may want to

7. Optimize your recovery:

After a workout, your body’s nutrient supply is depleted. To replenish glycogen and other necessary nutrients, you need a post-workout supplement for men. A post-workout supplement with carbs, protein and amino acids can help muscles recover faster and reduce muscle soreness. As a result, you’ll be more than ready for your next workout.

8. Refrain from overtraining:

There is absolutely no need to bench press every day. Your body has other muscles besides your chest that need working out. Your body also needs adequate rest to repair and improve itself, something it can’t do if you’re hitting the weights every day. Space out your workouts by at least 24 hours and take a day off each week – you deserve it.

Fitness: How to Get Rid of Back Bra Fat.

A strength training regimen builds muscles in the upper back.

Numerous women suffer from bra overhang, the fat at appears when you put on a bra and is visible through shirts. Sometimes called a muffin top, you become more susceptible to back bra fat as you get older. Women often wear shaping products like long bras to minimize the appearance of extra fat, and some women resort to extreme measures like cosmetic surgery. Before you think of taking dramatic efforts like surgery, you can get rid of bra bulge by taking a look at your diet andexercise routine.

1. Take an honest look at your Diet :

Write down everything you eat--including snacks--to make sure you are not consuming too many empty calories. The extra fat on the back and other areas of the body may be due to excess calories, particularly those containing saturated fat and sugary junk foods. Avoid white, starchy foods like white bread; substitute them with whole wheat products and brown rice. Eat lean proteins. Although you need to reduce calories, try staying somewhere between 1,500 and 2,000 calories, depending on your current weight and level of activity.

2. Develop a strength-training Regimen:

Start with light weights or no weights; work your way up to heavier weights. Focus on all the muscles of the upper body; you can't spot reduce back fat. Pushups work the muscles of the upper body including the fat that hangs over the bra. To target that area, do your pushups with your hands flat on the floor pointed straight in front of you. Keep your arms close to the body. If you have access to a local gym, use their upper body exercise machines. Trained staff members will show you how to get an effectiveupper body workout. Try doing exercises that work both the upper and lower body. Do at three sets of each exercise, consisting of 8 to 12 repetitions, for 30 to 45 minutes.

3. Do Pilates :

While Pilates has the reputation as an abdominal workout, it works the entire core, which includes the back. An exercise that focuses on the bra area of the back is swimming. You need to lie on your stomach with arms and legs outstretched as if you are swimming. Keep your palms facedown and toes pointed. Lift your legs and arms off the floor without arching the spine. Flap the opposite arm and opposite leg, slowly inhaling and exhaling. Do this along exercise with your Pilates routine twice a week.4. Get an aerobic workout. You need to expend calories and burn fat in order to see the results of your strength training. Aerobic activities include biking, hiking, swimming, dancing and walking. Add hand weights to your walking routine to work the upper body. Kickboxing, belly dancing and elliptical machines work the back while burning fat. Try circuit training workouts like The Firm, which combines cardio with strength training. Do aerobics at least 30 minutes three to five times a week.
